A petition on Change.org to remove Amber Heard from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has officially passed the 3 million signature mark. As of April 28, the petition has garnered 2 million signatures, showing that the numbers are skyrocketing.
The trial between Heard and Johnny Depp has revealed some shocking facts about the stars’ private behavior, but the revelations about the actress have had a greater negative impact on the public.
Since the feud between the two became public, studios like Disney and Warner Bros. have severed ties with Depp and many believe her return is unlikely, but considering that Heard also had erratic behavior publicized by the trial, many would like her to also suffer a similar punishment to that of Captain Jack Sparrow.

The online petition to remove Heard from the Aquaman sequel began gaining traction in November 2020, reaching 1.5 million signatures following Depp’s exit from the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
Depp resigned from the franchise – which was recently released with Mads Mikkelson taking over the role – at the request of Warner Bros after Depp lost a libel case against The Sun over a 2018 article that called him a “wife beater”.
Heard previously condemned the campaign to have her removed from the film. She denied that the outcome of the Depp libel case had any impact on her own franchise, confirming that she was due to film the sequel.
In a statement at the time, she had said: “Paid rumours and paid campaigns on social media don’t dictate [casting decisions] because they have no basis in reality.”
Although the new Aquaman movie is scheduled to hit theaters only next year, the film has already finished its shooting, which makes it difficult to replace Heard in the role of Queen Mera, one of the most important characters in the franchise and the hero’s romantic partner. .
The actress’ last appearance as the character was in Zack Snyder’s additional shoots of Justice League, where she starred in the premonition of the post-apocalyptic future in which Superman succumbs to Darkseid and murders Aquaman.
