This is not the first time that the wealth of the richest man in the world has been evaluated. In 2021, analysts at Morgan Stanley also pointed to the possibility of him becoming a trillionaire, mainly because of SpaceX’s space exploration.

According to Tipalti Approve, other billionaires are expected to follow Musk’s path. The second trillionaire in history is expected to be Gautam Adani, Indian billionaire responsible for the Adani Group, while the third is Zhang Yiming, Chinese entrepreneur of Byte Dance (TikTok).

The list must continue with the names of Bernard Arnault, president of Louis Vuitton, and with the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, who is predicted to be the sixth trillionaire, in 2030. In 2034, Mark Zuckerberg, creator of Meta (Facebook), must become a trillionaire.

Elon Musk’s Three Biggest Fears

Tesla CEO Elon Musk told the three fears he has about the future of humanity during an interview with the Insider portal.

The world’s richest man said he was afraid of religious extremism, a declining global birthrate and “out-of-control artificial intelligence”. However, getting old and dying don’t make the billionaire’s list.

“I spent a lot of time thinking about the birth rate,” Musk said. “This may be the biggest threat to the future of human civilization.”

Musk bases his concern on the declining birthrate in the US, a trend that has grown during the pandemic. A 2021 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report found that the birth rate in US states dropped by 4% between 2019 and 2020.

“Seeing this data has been bothering me, as I just don’t see it changing. Every year it gets worse. I keep driving my friends crazy with this information.”

Even though the fear of humanity not replenishing itself in sufficient numbers is Musk’s biggest fear, the businessman says that dying doesn’t scare him.

“I would certainly like to stay healthy for a long period of time, but I am not afraid of dying. I think it would be a relief.” Musk then adds that he would like to live long enough to see SpaceX fully realized.

Elon Musk has also stated that he has no interest in increasing human life expectancy.

“I don’t think we should try to make people live too long,” he said. “That would smother society.”

“The truth is, most people don’t change their minds. They just die. So if they don’t die, we’re stuck with old ideas and society won’t move forward,” he added.

Speaking of positive things, Elon Musk stated that his greatest hope is for humanity to create a “self-sustaining city on Mars”.

“I would be happy if humanity had a self-sustaining city on Mars, because then the likely life expectancy of humanity is much longer,” he said. “I think we really just got this little candle of consciousness, like a little light in the void. And we don’t want that little candle in the darkness to be blown out.”
